Kamenia Griffin, M.A., LAPC

As a therapist, I believe that everyone is the expert of their own

lives and sometimes we just need assistance with sorting

through all the clutter in our minds. I believe a major way

to gain clarity is through overcoming and navigating through

life’s breakdowns and challenges. There is something liberating

about embracing our imperfect selves and being brave enough

to face reality. The main modalities that I use are Cognitive Behavior

Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

CBT focuses on how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected and correlated. ACT uses acceptance, mindfulness and behavior change strategies to help with accepting life experiences as they present themselves while learning to adapt to them.
I am also trained in Exposure Prevention Therapy (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Behavioral Activation (BA). I have experience counseling through stressful life events, relationship challenges, treating obsessive compulsive disorders, addiction disorders, anxiety disorders, and depression disorders in adults, adolescents, and children. Along with being a therapist, I am also a wife and a mother of two, so I understand how difficult it can be to navigate life wearing many hats.
If you are ready to embrace the journey…let’s get started.
