Courtney Maier, M.Ed., NCC

As a therapist, I deeply value the collaborative dynamic of the therapeutic relationship, viewing it as a partnership where both client and therapist contribute actively. My practice is grounded in a person-centered approach, ensuring that treatment is meticulously tailored to resonate with the unique needs and life context of each individual. This approach allows for individualized treatment goals that are not just generic markers but are profoundly attuned to address the client's primary concerns and aspirations. Moreover, I place significant emphasis on harnessing and nurturing creativity within the therapeutic process. By employing a broad spectrum of interventions, I offer clients versatile tools and avenues to engage with their strengths. This creative engagement is not just a means to an end but a way to embolden clients, encouraging them to explore, challenge, and surpass their boundaries, thereby propelling them toward profound personal growth and enhanced well-being.

I graduated from Auburn University, where I earned my Bachelor's in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies and later, my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Now, I'm back at Auburn, pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education. Additionally, I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). When I'm not immersed in my studies or counseling, I cherish my downtime, which often involves relaxing with a warm cup of coffee, going for walks with my dog Avery, or spending serene moments at the barn with my horse, Milo.
